Driving the Future of the Industry: GM Technology’s Role in ETIRA

The European Toner & Inkjet Remanufacturers Association (ETIRA) is the go-to authority in the cartridge remanufacturing sector.

As a non-profit entity, it has spent two decades advocating for the industry on various fronts – be it regulatory authorities, stakeholders, the media, or consumers.

Originally a niche community, ETIRA has evolved the sector into a structured, larger-scale industry.

Its tireless efforts have amplified our voice at the European Commission and in international negotiations. This has helped uplift the European remanufacturing industry, promoting reusability as a practical alternative for office printing needs.

Three Years and Counting: GM Technology and ETIRA

Our membership in ETIRA since 2020 is no mere formality. We’re genuinely committed to advancing the industry. We actively collaborate to counterbalance the production of single-use cartridges, which all too often end up in landfills.

ETIRA requires its members to adhere to specific ethical values, social responsibility, and environmental standards. This makes the remanufacturing sector increasingly professional.

«Being part of ETIRA offers us a fantastic platform to exchange information with other members and to gain valuable industry insights. It also allows us to make our voice heard within the sector», states Zoltan Matyas, our International Sales Director.

Our close ties with ETIRA mean we are in regular contact with the organization. We share useful information about products or processes, enhancing our contributions to the industry.

«One of the aspects we value most about ETIRA is how it enables us to give back to our industry. It’s our way of supporting an association that represents the interests of the entire sector», continues Zoltan Matyas.

The ETIRA Certification Label: What Does It Mean?

ETIRA’s holographic label is a certified mark aimed at distinguishing between remanufactured OEM cartridges and newly manufactured OEM and non-OEM cartridges.

According to ETIRA itself, this label «offers customers assurance that they’re buying a genuinely remanufactured OEM cartridge from an ETIRA member».

This certification not only elevates the profile of remanufactured products but also allows users to identify environmentally superior cartridges.

At GM Technology, we were among the first globally to adopt this label for our R-OEM toners.

«This label is numbered, making it fully traceable. It’s a direct and visible way to convey our sustainability message to our clients. It confirms that our cartridges have undergone a circular process, fulfilling the “remanufactured” criteria», notes Zoltan Matyas.

Why Choose Toners Accredited with the ETIRA Label?

For any company operating in the toner remanufacturing industry, product differentiation is crucial.

The ETIRA label allows our partners to also benefit from having a strong environmental credential for the cartridges they offer.

Customers can be assured that these products meet specific quality standards and come from a factory that adheres to circular economy guidelines.

Moreover, these cartridges are safe, competitively priced, and provide end-users with a greener choice, empowering them to make responsible and planet-friendly consumption decisions.
